Fan Side Menu – How To Train Your Dragon

A hearty bowl of ‘yak stew’ is a common sight at the Berkian dining table and now you can make your own with this ‘quick beef stew’ recipe. ^-^
Recipe Ratings:
• Health: 4/5.
• Ease: Fairly easy.
• Speed: Takes a little while (±2hr).
Ingredients:
• Coconut oil - ±3 TBSP.
• Cubed beef – 200gr.
• Salt and pepper – To taste.
• Beef broth – 1L.
• Tomato sauce – 1 TBSP.
• Worcestershire sauce – 2 TBSP.
• Herbs - ±3 tsp /to taste.
• Onion – 1 large; peeled, quartered and sliced/cut as desired.
• Potatoes - ±4 large; peeled and cubed/cut as desired.
• Carrots - ±3 large; peeled and sliced/cut as desired.
• Cabbage – to taste; cut as desired.
• Corn flour – 1 heaped TBSP; mixed in a little water to form a slurry. (Use twice as much flour if using regular all-purpose wheat flour.)
• Garlic salt – 1 tsp /to taste.
Method:
• Put coconut oil into cooking pot and heat.
- Place cubed beef into pot, season with salt and pepper and brown/sear.
• Once beef is browned, add broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and herbs. Stir to combine.
- Bring to boil before turning down to medium-high or medium heat and cook for 20 minutes with lid on cooking pot.
• Prep potatoes, carrots, cabbage and onion while meat cooks.
• Once meat has been cooked for 20 minutes, add in your prepped veg, corn flour slurry and garlic salt. Stir to combine.
- Bring to the boil, put lid on and turn heat down to medium-high or medium heat. Allow to cook for 20 minutes or until potatoes and carrots are soft.
• Once cooked, serve with your choice of bread or rice.

• Remember, this recipe is very flexible. If you don’t particularly like something, don’t add it; put
something else in or add only a little.
