A concept for an Ayanagi Gakuen 1st/2nd year inspired look, which is sort of bordering on a cosplay.
(Please note: Items may not be to scale with each other in the picture.)
Outfit notes:
> The design is not identical to the official Ayanagi uniform as I’ve drawn it for a woman to wear. (More on this in the next section if you’re unsure what this means.)
> Seeing as it is a more ‘inspired’ look, I took liberty with the tie the boys wear in the series. You could use a tie or swap it for a scarf or even a bow ~ sort of like how the Nayuki sisters wear their ties.
- Personally, I feel I’d wear a scarf tied into a (loose) bow or tied so it hangs down somewhat like a tie… Maybe… (We’ll find out for sure if I ever actually get to making this outfit a reality.) However, if I was going for a more series accurate look, then I’d wear a tie.
> I found it interesting, while doing the colouring, how the buttons on the garments in the series don’t seem to be very shiny. They appear to be quite matte. (Just an interesting side note. I could be wrong, but that’s what they looked like to me in the reference pictures I used from the series and other official Starmyu images I found online.)
> Slacks/Dress pants – the gold piping pictured here was used to make the pants a more ‘everyday’ wearable item rather than having the gold stripe as seen in the series.
> Not pictured – don’t forget the black/charcoal grey socks if your preferred dress shoes require it.
For a more ‘series accurate’ look:
> Add a Musical Dept. patch for more ‘screen accuracy’. (Make the patch into a pin/brooch to allow you to change the look if you so want to.)
> The satchel would also need to be made as a ‘replica’ as pinning anything to leather doesn’t really work and the one pictured here is missing the Ayanagi logo in the centre of the flap. (Also, I discovered after finishing the picture, that I’d drawn the attachment for the strap wrong… I should have used more than just the one reference picture while drawing initially… Lesson learned…)
> As previously mentioned, the design of the garments are not identical to the Ayanagi uniforms. To make them more like the series version, swap the closure of the garments. (Women’s garments traditionally close right over left whereas men’s garments close left over right. Hence why I drew them as you see them here.)
> A tie would be non-negotiable for this look. (I think it would be the same for the socks. Double check your own reference pictures.)
> Waistcoat – negotiable. (Not all the boys wear their waistcoats all the time.)
> Slacks/Dress pants – instead of the gold piping, have a gold stripe down the side.
> Optional extras – have a look at the lads in the series and take inspiration from them.
- For example, Tatsumi and Ageha wear other over-wear items under their blazers. (A hoodie for Tatsumi and a knitted item for Ageha. ~ Side note: I don’t have access to the official fan book or anything so I have to go on what I see in the series or what I can find online that is official. Ergo, why I can’t say exactly what kind of knitted item Ageha wears…)
For a more ‘inspired’ look:
> Blazer – a pure cream/ivory one.
> Waistcoat – a plain tan one.
> Free to choose tie, scarf or bow so long as it is in the ‘wine red’ colour for the Ayanagi uniform.
> Slacks/Dress pants – a pure dark brown pair.
> Satchel – a brown messenger bag could possibly work well.
> Shoes – I highly recommend a ‘fancier’ closed-toe shoe in black or charcoal grey ~ not trainers…
